Here's exciting news about a unique regional event. the "Peña del cochino" of Torrelamata has prepared an impressive event for this coming Sunday, "international pork day". More than 500 kilos of juicy pork, 150 kilos of bread, celery and 150 liters of wine will be distributed at Plaza Encarnación Puchol in La Mata. This festival traditionally coincides with the celebration of the Feast of St. Anthony, which is marked by the ritual slaughter of pigs in the Vega Baja region.

This event, also known as the "International Festival of Iberian Products in Torrelamata", attracts hundreds of people from various villages in Vega Baja, as well as tourists from Germany, England and Scandinavia. Each participating group is welcome to bring tables, chairs, a grill, food and drinks, creating a festive and friendly atmosphere.

In previous years, more than 1,000 people have participated in this unique "sacred pork". It's not necessary to sign up in advance; just show up at Plaza Encarnación Puchol in La Mata around 12:00 pm to pick up some delicious pork and immerse yourself in the shared joy of this event. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy local culture and cuisine in a joyful and lively environment!
