Masterful organ concert. Prof. Marek Stefanski at the church of Inmaculada Concepci贸n

Culture/

The extremely rich and varied offerings of the musical community in Torrevieja, have been enriched in recent seasons with concerts and even an organ music festival, all thanks to the initiative of the renowned virtuoso of the instrument, professor at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow, Prof. Marek Stefanski, and the ARS PRO ARTE Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and the Arts, also from Krakow. This time, Prof. Marek Stefanski performed in the space of the Inmaculada Concepci贸n church in a charity concert, with proceeds from the concert earmarked for the conservation of the church's roof.

The interestingly arranged mosaic program - in which there was room for the genre seriousness of J.S. Bach, as well as the melancholy in Anonymus' Pastorals - was chosen to show the organ and its sonic qualities at their best. It was also a program giving the performer the opportunity to demonstrate his individuality and character, where discipline and natural freedom of expression simply complemented each other. Professor Mark Stefanski's organ concert turned out to be a true mystery. What the artist impressed the numerous listeners with in J.S.Bach's works was his mastery of mood-building and his watchmaker's precision in approaching the details without the risk of getting lost in the labyrinth of details. On top of that, the master's musical imagination, made the the presented works were listened to with concentration and interest.

A somewhat belated Christmas mood was conveyed by a performance of A Christmas Carol and Pastorals from the 17th century by an anonymous composer, while in a four-part composition by J. Haydn (1732 - 1809) - Adagio, Andante, Grave and Rondo, despite the modest possibilities offered by the instrument, the artist made maximum use of the registers available on the organ and their combinations, achieving an impressive tone color.

The organ concert, Prof. Marek Stefanski concluded with a performance of his own composition based on the popular Latin carol "Adeste Fideles." The inclusion of pastorals and carols in the program is a kind of wink in the direction of Polish tradition, where the Christmas season, the Catholic Church, as perhaps the only one in the world, does not end until February 2.

"Introduction and Fugue on the Theme of Adeste Fideles", is a composition in which the organ, thanks to the author and at the same time the performer, is able to sound with the power of an orchestra, only to sing in a moment with the tenderness of the human voice. Prof. Marek Stefanski gave the audience music pulsating with emotions, where each passage and cascade of sounds had its own meaning, making up a logical and thrilling whole. The artist also gave as an encore a variation on the carol "Come to Bethlehem."

Extremely successful concert. Bravo !!!
