Poles growing in number
For the Polish community on the Costa Blanca, the most important news is that the number of registered Poles in Torrevieja is steadily growing. According to official records, our group already numbers 1,320 people, which means that we have surpassed in numbers the German community (1,313 people), among others. Poles are becoming one of the more significant groups from the European Union to choose this city to live permanently.
City of young and active people
The authority's data dispels the myth that Torrevieja is only a city of retirees. The largest age group is those between 40 and 49 years old (19,861 people), closely followed by the 50-59 group (18,644 people). The breakdown by gender is almost equal: there are 57,327 women and 56,126 men living in the city.
Such rapid growth poses significant challenges for the local administration. According to the authority, in the first quarter of the year alone, officials issued more than 10,500 certificates and certifications, which best illustrates the scale of interest in living in the region.
