Spain, located on the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe, borders five countries; it shares its land borders with the following countries:
- France - To the northeast, the Spanish-French border stretches for 623 kilometers. The Pyrenees, an impressive mountain range, forms the natural border between these two countries, offering breathtaking views and numerous opportunities for hiking and skiing.
- Portugal - To the west, the border with Portugal is about 1,214 kilometers long. It is one of the oldest borders in Europe, having remained almost unchanged since the Middle Ages. Relations between the two neighbors are close and friendly, with strong cultural and historical ties.
- Andorra - This tiny principality, located in the Pyrenees, borders the with Spain to the north at a length of 63 kilometers. Andorra is a well-known tourist destination, especially for winter sports enthusiasts and duty-free shopping.
- Gibraltar - Although Gibraltar is a British overseas territory, it is located on the southern coast of Spain and borders Spain for 1.2 kilometers. It is a small but strategically important piece of land, controlling access to the Mediterranean Sea.
- Morocco - Borders Spain through its exclaves of Ceuta and Melilla on the northern coast of Africa. Ceuta borders Morocco for about 6.3 kilometers and Melilla for about 10.5 kilometers. The relationship between these areas and Morocco is often complicated, but historically and culturally rich.
