"Emigration: Stories Written from the Heart" Photo Contest for the Polish Community on the Costa Blanca
One photo, one moment, and one personal story. The HISPOLA Cultural Association invites Poles living on the Costa Blanca to participate in the photography contest “Emigration: Stories Written from the Heart.” Polska Costa is serving as the contest’s media sponsor.
What does life in Spain mean to you? A new beginning, a dream come true, a longing for Poland, everyday life, or perhaps a place that has become a second home over time?
The contest organizers want to show emigration from a personal perspective. It’s not about perfect, postcard-worthy photos of Spain, but about authentic images depicting the lives of Poles on the Costa Blanca—everyday life, family, friendship, work, Polish traditions, the meeting of two cultures, and places that have become part of their life as expats.
Who can participate?
The contest is open to Poles living on the Costa Blanca, regardless of their age or how long they have been living in Spain.
The organizers invite children, teenagers, adults, and seniors. As HISPOLA emphasizes, every generation can share its own perspective on emigration.
You don't need a professional camera to participate. You can also take a photo with your cell phone.
How do I submit a photograph?
Participants should submit one photo to: hispola.alicante@gmail.com
Please include the following in your message:
- the author's first and last name,
- age,
- photo title,
- a brief description of the photo—1 to 3 sentences—explaining what the photo depicts and why this shot is important to the photographer,
- a signed participant statement, which must be attached to the message.

Who will choose the winning photo?
A three-member photography jury will select the winning entry:

The Polish Consulate is sponsoring the contest.
Polska Costa and Radio Polonia España are serving as media sponsors for the event.
The contest is organized by the HISPOLA Cultural Association, which invites Poles living on the Costa Blanca to share their personal perspectives on emigration.
Because emigration can mean something different to everyone. For some, it will be a new beginning; for others, it will mean longing, family, work, friendship, or simply everyday life in a place that has, over time, become a second home.
A single photo can tell a whole story.
