New lifestyle combining work and travel

News/December 03, 2025

Digital tourism, also known as digital nomadism, is becoming one of the fastest growing trends of recent years. More and more people are choosing to combine remote work with the ability to move between countries, cities and cultures. Such a lifestyle does not require exceptional skills - all you need is a stable Internet connection, a laptop and an openness to changing surroundings. For many people, the combination of work and travel means more freedom, better creativity and a sense of freedom that is difficult to experience in a traditional office. Living for several months in different corners of Europe or the world is becoming a way of life, not just a vacation adventure. This is why digital tourism is attracting both freelancers, as well as full-time employees who have been enabled by companies to work remotely.

Online stores as a flexible source of income on the go

Many digital nomads are choosing to build their own businesses that are not tied to one location. A popular direction has become online stores, allowing to earn money regardless of where the owner is at the moment. Both physical and digital products can be sold - e-books, courses, photos or graphics. The important thing is that the sales process works automatically, allowing the creator to focus on traveling and pursuing his passions.

An online store can be launched in several ways, a rich offer for e-commerce has, for example, home.pl - from the beginner's solution Sellastik, to a tailor-made store on WooCommerce. The former can be tested for free for 21 days, and the price includes a web address and SSL. Thanks to such solutions, many nomads treat their own store as a stable source of income, which allows them to spend winter in Spain, spring in Croatia and summer in Poland - without losing work continuity.

Organizing work while traveling

Although digital tourism sounds like an endless vacation, in reality it requires good organization. Finding the right place to work - quiet cafes, coworking spaces or apartments with a dedicated office corner - is key. Establishing a routine is also essential. Many nomads combine morning work hours with afternoon sightseeing, so they strike a balance between duty and pleasure. a stable schedule also helps when dealing with clients, colleagues or business partners operating in other time zones. Tools for communication, storage of files and git organization of finances are also important in daily practice. It is technology that makes it possible to freely combine work and travel - whether you someone runs a one-person business or works with a larger company.

How to find a place that is conducive to remote work?

Destination selection is one of the key elements of digital tourism. Southern European countries such as Spain, Portugal and Italy offer great weather, friendly locals and good Internet infrastructure. More and more cities are investing in coworking zones and laptop-friendly spaces. When deciding to relocate, it's a good idea to check the quality of connectivity, cost of living and availability of transportation beforehand. In the nomadic world, a recurring rule of thumb is: before you go - find a business or community that operates in the place you are heading to, so you can more easily get into the local rhythm.

Digital tourism as a way to balance and develop

Working while traveling is not only about changing locations, but also about changing approaches to everyday life. Nomads learn flexibility, better organization and relationship building in an international environment. New places inspire, develop creativity and allow you to get to know yourself better. It's a lifestyle that can be lived for a long time - especially if you manage to build a stable source of income based on online activities, including online stores. While not everyone will choose to move their work entirely to travel, digital tourism opens up new professional and personal opportunities. It gives you the freedom to choose where you want to work, and teaches you how to combine your responsibilities with exploring the world on your own terms.
