The upcoming celebration of Poland's Independence Day on Spain's Costa Blanca promises to be special. on November 10, an "Independence Chillout" picnic will be held in Guardamar del Segura, providing an excellent opportunity to celebrate together and integrate the Polish community in the region. This event not only reminds us of an important date in the Polish calendar, but also promotes Polish culture among the people of Spain.
"Independence Day is a special moment that we celebrate with pride, recalling the heroic struggles of our ancestors" - agnieszka Juniewicz, president of the Hispola Association and organizer of the event, emphasizes. The program will include a Polish table tasting, barbecue and singing Polish songs together. There will also be a game zone for participants, including quizzes related to Polish history that will bring Polish traditions closer to adults and children alike.
"We want the Polish community in Spain to have the opportunity to celebrate Independence Day in a way that integrates our community and at the same time gives us a chance to show Polish culture to other nationalities. This is a moment when we not only celebrate our Polish identity, but also show Spaniards that the Polish community is an important part of the local community." - juniewicz points out. In turn, Aleksandra Kmak-Pamirska of the HumanDOC Foundation emphasizes that the picnic is a great opportunity to show Spaniards Poles at their best and break all stereotypes. "We can show ourselves as open, creative and active members of the local community," - he says. The organizers (the Hispola Association, the HumanDoc Foundation and the Polish newspaper Polska Costa), focus on openness and cooperation with the local community.
The picnic will take place in the Reina Sofía Park, near the amphitheater in Guardamar, starting at 2 p.m. Participants should bring chairs, snacks and drinks, as the idea of sharing delicious Polish food always accompanies these gatherings.
This is an excellent opportunity for both older and younger Poles to feel pride in the national holiday, while building intercultural bridges in an international environment. Admission to the picnic is free.
