A piece of good classical music was offered by ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA DE TORREVIEJA under the direction of its head and permanent conductor JOSÉ FRANCISCO SANCHEZA, which took place traditionally in the Auditorium Internacional in front of, as usual, a packed hall of local and visiting audiences. The specialty of "Our" orchestra is the performance of works by the "Viennese Classics," in particular W.A. Mozart y L.van Beethoven. This was also the case this time, although these two masters were separated by Tchaikovsky, who is performed by the orchestra just as often. But let's cut to the chase....
The concert began with a piece W.A. Mozart intended to be performed by an orchestra composed solely of string instruments. Divertimento K 137 In B-flat Major is music that takes today's listener back to a time when this kind of music was a kind of popular music, performed at occasional concerts. After a somewhat serious-sounding first movement (Andante), Mozart offers the listener total relaxation in the cheerful Allegro tempo of the second and third movements. The string orchestra, under the baton of master SANCHEZ, presented a version of the work light and clear, not forgetting all the dynamic and rhythmic nuances and even the humor that characterizes this composition, while reassuring the constant and faithful listener of the excellent level and professionalism of the ensemble and its conductor.
It was a real pleasure to hear the the magnificent playing of the young cellist from South Korea. [DANBIN LEE], who delighted the audience with a superb performance of "Rococo Variations," a work by Tchaikovsky for solo cello and orchestra, a piece that impresses with its wonderful ideas and colors of consonances. After a brief orchestral introduction, DANBIN LEE presented a simple theme, followed by seven variations of different styles and emotions. The soloist, (21 years old) was able to convey the maturity and sense of the various elements of the composition, showing her immense talent, while offering a performance full of energy, dynamics and expression. In a word, DANBIN LEE as well as the Orchestra accompanying her, conducted by J.F. SANCHEZ, created an atmosphere full of emotion, virtuosity and contrasts in Tchaikovsky's work, while stylistically very classical. The audience reacted extremely warmly to the cellist's performance, which was thanked by her wonderful encore.
The second part of the concert was filled with L. van Beethoven's Symphony No. 8, an unusual work, full of humor and relatively easy to listen to. The work's four movements give the impression of a bundle of merry dances, and it can be said that "Eighth" is among Beethoven's most cheerful compositions. In the interpretation of the Symphony by the Orchestra under the baton of SANCHEZ, there was no lack of this peculiar spring joy and a pinch of madness, especially in the finale.
To sum up, music lovers had another opportunity to participate in an extremely an enjoyable concert by ORQUESTA SINFÓNICA DE TORREVIEJA under the direction of JOSÉ FRANCISCO SANCHEZ, ending with an impressive encore - the Finale from Symphony No. 7 by the immortal Beethoven. Congratulations ! ...... on May 11, a concert by the same orchestra and a new artistic experience.
