Discover Trails and Waterfalls in Cortes de Pallás

Travels/May 15, 2025

If you're dreaming of a unique adventure in a picturesque corner of Spain, Cortes de Pallás and its waterfalls are an excellent choice. This place, full of natural treasures and lush vegetation, offers an unforgettable experience all year round, especially on hot days, when the crystal clear waters of the waterfalls become the perfect place to cool off. Here's a guide to the region's most fascinating trails and waterfalls that are a must-see.

Arroyo de Cortes Route: A Guide to the Waterfalls

The Arroyo de Cortes is a scenic circular route of about 6 kilometers that passes through some of the most beautiful places in Cortes de Pallás. The trail winds through enchanting waterfalls, pools of emerald water and numerous swimming areas with crystal clear water, surrounded by typical Mediterranean vegetation and riverside forests. This is a true paradise for nature lovers and family outings.

How to Get to the Waterfall Route?

Cortes de Pallás can be easily reached from Valencia. Just take the A3 highway toward Madrid, then exit onto Route 322 toward Buñol. Continue along route CV 425 and CV 428 until you reach Cortes de Pallás.

In the village itself, you'll find several municipal parking lots, the best of which is along Muela Road, close to the starting point of the tour.

The Start of the Tour: What Awaits You

The hike begins at the junction of the Senda Cavanilles/la Corta and El Corbinet roads, marked by a wooden post. Begin the hike in the direction of Cavanilles - La Corta, climbing along a paved path. The path leads through a variety of vegetation, including pine forests and Mediterranean shrubs. Keep an eye out for signs, as some places may require more attention.

First Waterfall: Unforgettable Views

After about halfway along the route, you'll reach the first waterfall, which provides spectacular views of the Fuente El Corbinet and San Luis waterfalls. Riparian vegetation may limit the view, but it also adds to the beauty of the place, creating a picturesque backdrop.

Weaver's Cave: Historical Accent

Near the first waterfall is the Weaver's Cave (Cueva del Tejedor). This cave, once used as a shelter for cattle, is an interesting educational feature and an excellent point for explaining to children how people used natural shelters in the past.

Saint Louis Falls: Oasis of Rest

Continuing on the route, you will reach the San Luis waterfall, which drops into an emerald pool. This place is perfect for swimming and relaxing. The surroundings are full of lush vegetation, and the pool offers the perfect conditions for a long rest in the crystal clear water.

El Corbinet Spring: The Greatest Waterfall

At the end of the route is Fuente El Corbinet, the largest waterfall in the area. It is an impressive waterfall with a wide beach and picnic area. The green water of the waterfall invites you to take a dip, and the expansive beach allows you to relax surrounded by picturesque views.

Return Trail: More Beautiful Views

From Fuente El Corbinet, you can return to Cortes de Pallás by taking an alternative route along the stream or by returning along the same path. Both options offer beautiful views and a calmer return pace.

Practical Tips for Tourists

  • Safety: always check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly by taking sturdy trekking shoes, water and maps.
  • Environmental Protection: Follow Leave No Trace - take all trash with you and try not to disturb the natural environment.
  • For Families with Children: The route is suitable for children ages 4-5, but sometimes requires adult support. If you don't want to walk too much, shorten the route to the easier path leading to Fuente El Corbinet.

Cortes de Pallás is a true gem for nature lovers and hikers, offering spectacular views, refreshing baths and moments of relaxation surrounded by wildlife.
