Poland in the spotlight. “Discover Poland!” at the Intercultural Festival in Jávea
From July 3-5, 2025, Polish culture will take center stage on the Costa Blanca. This event marks another important step toward the lasting presence of Polish heritage in the region’s public life.
As part of the International Festival of Culture in Jávea, the "Discover Poland!" booth will be created by the Hispola Association in collaboration with the HumanDoc Foundation and the editorial team of Polska Costa. It is part of a broader initiative to promote visibility and integration of the Polish community along Spain’s southeastern coast.
This event is part of a broader initiative by Hispola in collaboration with HumanDoc and the Polska Costa newspaper, responding to the real needs of the Polish community living in southern Spain: the need for visibility, integration, and pride in one’s heritage. However, our activities are not aimed exclusively at the Polish diaspora. We want Polish culture to be present in the public space - accessible and engaging also for Spaniards and the international community of Costa Blanca".
— emphasizes Agnieszka Juniewicz, President of the Hispola Association.
A culture that engages
The "Discover Poland!" booth is designed for a wide audience - both Polish residents in Spain and locals or tourists from other countries. Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to explore Polish nature, heritage sites, and everyday life through educational materials, as well as take part in interactive workshops and cultural animations.
Children will enjoy a dedicated play corner with educational games showcasing key symbols, figures, and events from Polish history in a fun, engaging way. Older participants can take part in quizzes and use interactive maps.
Flavors, sounds, and emotions
One of the highlights of the booth will be "Tastes of Poland!" - a tasting corner offering traditional regional delicacies, from cured meats to sweet pastries. Live music and group sing-alongs of beloved Polish songs will add atmosphere - a crowd favorite among both Poles and curious Spanish visitors.
Guests will also receive multilingual brochures (Polish, Spanish, English) and Polish-themed souvenirs - so that everyone can take a piece of Poland home with them.
We want to build bridges, not just remind people of their roots. Poland can be interesting, modern, and open - and that’s exactly what we want to showcase here.
— adds Aleksandra Kmak-Pamirska from HumanDoc.
The Jávea Festival is one of the largest intercultural events on the Costa Blanca, attracting thousands of residents and tourists each year. Poland’s participation in this context is not just symbolic - it’s a meaningful promotion of the country in a region that has become a second home for many Poles.
