Autumn musical mood in the park “La Siesta”
The latest in a series of chamber concerts in Torrevieja's parks organized by the local Symphony Orchestra took place in La Siesta Park on Sunday, September 28, so already with the onset of autumn and in an autumn musical mood.
On the park stage this time appeared; vocalist - Lucia España, pianist - Paula Ferrandez, violinist - Stanislav Tkacz y percussionist - Modesto Abenza, artists known and liked, whose names sound like a promise to perform really good and interesting music.
The beginning of the evening belonged to the entire quartet, with singer Lucia España performing the song 'Can you feel the love tonight' as a soloist. Her singing emanated concentration, but also a readiness to collide artistically with a matter full of emotions, which she managed to convey in the following songs like; 'Tomame o dejame' and 'Who wants to live forever'. The vocalist's voice, superbly disposed, with an extraordinary amplitude of emotional beauty and elegance, the audience also had the opportunity to admire in the songs; “Hijo de la luna”, “The winner takes It all” y “Vivir así es morir de amor”. In her performances one could admire belcanton singing, and great joy in demonstrating their vocal skills, which made Ms. Lucia España's interpretations sound with a lightness of fun.
Known for his exceptional skills, the violinist, longtime concertmaster of the Symphony Stanislav Tkacz already enchanted the audience with a poetic mood in his first solo piece, performing the piece “Cinema Paradiso” with the accompaniment of pianist Paula Ferrandez . The two demonstrated their readiness for a musical dialogue, which turned out to be one of the most beautiful musical conversations of the park's chamber concerts. In the intimate story that the performers spun before our eyes, every note had its weight, its meaning, its place. The artists proved that it is possible to discover entirely new layers of emotion in the works performed. In the tangos “Por una cabeza,” “Oblivion” and “Libertango,” they showed all the fullness of their art, impressing with their joy, lightness and technical freedom, which made the listened to the music performed by the duo with great pleasure, almost forgetting about God's world.
The real gems of the evening turned out to be; 'Czardas' and 'Killing me softly'. The artists impressed with their superb violin technique, and great vocal subtlety, as each piece carried a different emotional weight.
Special applause is due to pianist Paula Ferrandez, who in her supporting role as accompanist demonstrated extraordinary skill in the joy of musicianship. On the other hand, percussionist Modesto Abenza is to be congratulated for his great discretion in rhythmically accompanying the soloists. Not for a moment was his playing dominant, characterized by withdrawal and an excellent sense of musical taste.
The coherence and musicality of the entire presentation was rewarded by the audience with well-deserved applause. The artists thanked the numerous attendees with the performance of two encores, demonstrating not only great musicianship, but above all a deep universality and understanding of the music performed.
We participated in an encounter with live music, interpreted by artists of extraordinary sensitivity, who are able to work together and, hearing each other, form a harmonious musical organism.
For now, we say goodbye until the next opportunities for chamber music, in these magical places in the parks of Torrevieja.
