A concert by Polish organist from Krakow, Marek Stefanski will conclude this year's II International Organ Festival in Torrevieja (II Festival Internacional de Organo). The concert will take place at the Sagrado Corazon church in Torrevieja, on Friday, September 27, at 8:15 p.m. The church features a high-end organ, commissioned a year ago, in honor of the parish's 50th anniversary.
Marek Stefanski is an artist well known to Costa Blanca organ music lovers, as he has already performed twice in organ recitals in Torrevieja, at the Inmaculada Concepcion church, where he is welcomed each time by the public and with a critically acclaimed.
The program for the September concert will include works of European organ literature of three centuries, beginning with the 18th century, or early Baroque music, through the 20th century. There will be no shortage of Polish organ music and, at the center of the recital, works by Johann Sebastian Bach. Admission to the concert is free.
Marek Stefanski is a professor at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Cracow, one of the most active Polish organ virtuosos, also internationally. His contributions include numerous concerts, recordings for CD, radio and television, invitations to juries of national and international music competitions, as well as book publications.
For the past two years, he and his wife, Agnieszka Radwan-Stefańska, also an organist, have been associated with the Costa Blanca region, where they are involved in numerous cultural projects in the field of organ music. Since 2017, they have been running the ARS PRO ARTE Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and the Arts.
