Poland in the fight for the world's best paella - Lukasz Kaniecki in the finals of the Paella World Cup in Valencia
Valencia, the capital of rice and the cradle of paella, will become the arena of one of the most prestigious culinary competitions in the world - the World Paella Day Cup - in September. This year's final list of participants includes a name that makes us Poles especially happy: Chef Lukasz Kaniecki will represent Poland in this unique competition.
The paella festival in Valencia
The World Paella Day Cup is a culinary celebration held every year on September 20, International Paella Day. Chefs from around the world descend on Valencia to compete in the art of preparing this traditional dish, which is one of Spain's greatest culinary symbols. This event is not only a competition, but also a festival of culture and taste - with workshops, visits to the rice fields of Albufera and meetings with local master chefs.
Polish accent on the world stage
Among the 12 finalists of this year's edition was Lukasz Kaniecki - the only representative of Poland in the competition. This is a great honor, since the selection of candidates is based on a global vote and the evaluation of an international jury.
Lukasz Kaniecki has been specializing in Spanish cuisine for years, and can be found at Warsaw's Tres Toros restaurant (www.trestoros.pl), where he combines the authentic flavors of the Iberian Peninsula with his own passion and experience.
“Participation in the finals of the Paella World Cup is a dream come true and a great honor for me. It is also a chance to represent Poland on the international culinary scene, among the best chefs from around the world.”
- emphasizes Kaniecki.
Ambassador of taste and passion
Kaniecki makes no secret of the fact that Spanish cuisine is his greatest passion. For years he has been exploring the secrets of authentic paella, which he considers a culinary art - combining tradition, local products and hospitality. Thanks to his presence in Valencia, this will be the first time that Poland will gain such a clear representation in this unique event.
